Recognizing the lack of access most investors have to private market impact investments – Citizen Mint was founded and built on accessibility and impact. Our team handpicks and deeply researches each investment for both financial return and positive impact. We’re creating new and more direct pathways to invest, and we hope you’ll join us.
Over the last decade, there’s been a shift in the industry. With societal and environmental changes, clients want to align their financial resources with personal values. That’s why we created Citizen Mint — a platform built to connect investors with private market opportunities that change the world, one investment at a time.
Josh Hile, Citizen Mints’ CEO and CIO has spent the last ten years managing and consulting with both ultra-high net worth individuals as well as the pensions and 401k plans of Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, he was Director of Investment Strategy and Research at a $16B registered investment advisor (RIA). While there, Josh led efforts around Sustainable & Impact Investing capabilities, where it was proved time and time again that positive impact and solid returns can coexist.
After seeing these trends, it became clear – private capital is needed to solve global challenges. And if Josh didn’t create a new system, his clients would never hit their set goals, and the problems that affect our planet would never truly be solved.
Josh found exceptional, like-minded co-founders and teammates to help build a platform that expands access to investment opportunities, yielding both positive social and environmental effects and financial returns.
In the past, opportunities to invest in social and global challenges were reserved for private markets and the elite few. But this model is slowing down progress. We believe that more access to these worthwhile projects can create quicker societal and environmental impact while also giving clients a solid financial return.
Ultimately, we envision a future where all investing is impact investing. We believe investors not only care where their money is going but also look to affect challenges they face locally, regionally, or globally. This change will shift the asset management industry, and we are excited to be the conduit for a better future.

Prior to this, Josh worked at Russell Investments performing due diligence on fund managers for Russell’s mutual fund and consulting divisions (Russell advised on $2.2 trillion). Josh has a B.A. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.
